First setup
Step 1.

Open mehrbytes.com/absento and click Add to Slack.

In the Slack OAuth screen, check the correct workspace and click Allow.

After installation absento appears in the left-hand Apps list.
Step 2.

Click absento in Slack; a Settings modal opens automatically.

Select Language and Timezone.

Confirm with Save.
Step 3.

In the Home tab click the plus icon in the desired section.

Choose the Slack status that should trigger the notice.

Enter your Absence message.

Click Save – the rule is added to the list.
Step 4.

Open any channel that should receive absence notices.

Type
/invite @absentoand send. -
Repeat for additional channels as needed.
Step 5.

Click your profile picture → Set a status and select the status linked in Step 3.

When someone mentions (pings) you in a channel, absento automatically posts the stored absence message.
-
Remove the status or the rule if the notice is no longer required.
